The musician known for his hit song “Dancehall Commando,”  Shatta Wale, could potentially face jail time for repeatedly insulting fellow Afro-Dancehall artist Stonebwoy and referring to him as “disabled.”. Shatta Wale has been targeting Stonebwoy with insults for the past week after Stonebwoy declined to perform with him at the annual Salahfest. Shatta Wale’s go-to insult has been calling Stonebwoy a cripple.

In response to the ongoing feud, a Ghanaian lawyer has stated that it is illegal to attack a person with a disability, which could result in a three-month prison sentence. The lawyer also pointed out that the Disability Act has safeguards in place to protect individuals with impairments from such assaults.

The Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations (GFD) has already spoken out against Shatta Wale’s insulting remarks towards Stonebwoy.
