Alade, an award-winning Nigerian singer, has stated that singing is her passion rather than a vocation.
In the most recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Alade said that if she had to select a job years ago, she would not have chosen music.
The ‘Johnny‘ crooner stated, “It [music] was always a love of mine, and I was excited to see where it would lead me. Do I feel compelled to abandon all else in my life and devote myself entirely to music? No.”
Speaking further, Alade stated, “I liked the notion of music, but I didn’t want it to be a job. I did not consider it a career. It was a large pastime in which I was heavily committed. But it’s not a career.
“If you had asked me 11/12 years ago if I wanted to be a musician, I would not have chosen that professional path. I still would not do it. As much as I like music, I always assumed that this pastime would lead to anything, but I’m going to stick to my studies since my parents want me to. If music does not work out for me, I am confident that I will find work.”
