The Ghanaian performers at Rapper Samuel Frimpong Adu’s recent show at the O2 Indigo in London all paid for their airfare and lodging, according to the rapper, also known by his stage name Medikal.

The performances of some of Ghana’s most popular artists, such as Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Sister Derby, Efya, and Article Wan, delighted the event’s attendees.

The most interesting part of the performance was when Medikal unexpectedly joined his ex-girlfriend, Sister Derby, on stage to sing.

The musician has received criticism after his performance for inviting his ex-girlfriend to the stage while he was experiencing marital problems.

However, Medikal clarified in an interview that he did not pay for Sister Derby’s tickets or lodging for any of the artists who performed at his show.

He made it clear that his coworkers had flown to London to support and adore him for his greatest event there. “No, I didn’t pay for Sister Derby’s plane ticket. Each musician covered the cost of their own lodging and tickets. They came to support and adore me. In an interview with UTV, he stated, “I did not cover their flight ticket and accommodations.”

Concurrently, the rapper has defended his choice to perform live with his former romantic partner.

Medikal explained that his goal was to provide fans with a live performance of a well-known song that they had both collaborated on during an interview on UTV.

This is all for entertainment purposes only, not to hurt Fella Makafui’s feelings, as some have implied.

I wanted people to experience a live rendition of what they see on my music videos and Snapchat, said Medikal. “She is someone I have a song with—a song people know about,” Medikal said.

That’s what it is—nothing new, then. I had no intention of proving anything. All I wanted to do was enjoy myself and give my fans an amazing experience. He stated on United Showbiz on May 4 that “this is not meant to offend anyone; it was just entertainment.”
