Ayra Starr, a Nigerian singer better known by her stage name Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, has dubbed Don Jazzy, the head of her record label, “the coolest person ever.”

When Ayra Starr recalled her first meeting with the Mavin CEO, she admitted that she was apprehensive but that Don Jazzy was quite lovely.

In the most recent issue of Teen Vogue Magazine, Ayra Starr made an appearance.

“I recall being quite shy when I first met Don Jazzy. My brother and I would be in the studio, and if he left, we would both glance at the other and shout, “Oh, my God!” But he was the coolest man I had ever met when I first met him. He merely desired to communicate with me and ascertain my state of mind. He could tell how badly I wanted it, she recounted.

Don Jazzy claimed that the instant he heard Ayra Starr perform one of her own songs on Instagram, he knew he wanted to collaborate with her.

“I initially came across Ayra Starr singing one of her own songs in a video on Instagram. Despite looking so young, she had a very powerful voice. I knew right away that I wanted to work with her. I invited her to come to our studio with a guardian via direct message, he said.
