CalBank PLC, through a staff engagement meeting on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the ultramodern Headoffice complex, announced the retirement of its Managing Director, Philip Owiredu—his retirement which takes effect February 2024. The reason for his early retirement isn’t immediately known.
The bank’s leadership in announcing this is said to have recognized, “his 19-year career with the Bank and his leadership.”
Mr Philip Owiredu joined CalBank as a Director of Finance in December 2004 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2020.
A formal communiqué is expected to be made to all stakeholders, and the Directors will subsequently notify the Bank of Ghana of the nomination of a successor in due course
