Blackface, a veteran singer-songwriter and former member of the disbanded Plantashun Boiz, has accused Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake of stealing intellectual property.

The group sampled the ‘Ghetto Child’ singer’s songs without his consent, he said.

The claims were made by Blackface in a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos.
The rhythms, the pace, and the way the melody begins and finishes are all samples from my music “Twist & Turn” in the Wizkid and Burna Boy song “Ginger.” Na, only the verses that change.

Asake was charged by Blackface with using a sample of his song “Ikebe Supa” in “Joha.”

“My song “Ikebe Supa” is sampled in Asake’s song “Joha.” They are inspired by me, he claimed.
